9 Hole Golfing takes Half the Time

If you do not have enough time to golf the full 18 holes, then you should try out 9 Hole Golfing. You can do either the front 9 or the back 9. This cuts the game time in half and you can get done at a quicker pace. This is usually used for people who are not that good at golf yet and need more time at each hole. You can also use it at the end of the day when there is less sun available. I have found that if you really hurry, you can finish a 9 hole game in about 1 hour.

I recently was surprised to learn that a lot of my golfing partners did not know what 9 hole golfing was. I’ve been to several 9 hole courses and have had the joy to participate in golf tournaments on such courses. Playing golf on a smaller course is fun for the social interactions. To clarify, 9 hole is a course that only has 9 holes instead of the normal 18 holes. To play the back nine, you actually return to your first hole and start the course again. Except, you tee off at a different location during the second rotation. Benefits normally include cheaper green fees, smaller crowds, and second chances to clear the water traps.

Due to the lower level of competition and intensity, it makes for a great chance to practice outside of the driving range. Last but not least it is an excellent way to get some exercise while having fun, being social, and spending an hour or two outside.
