To Buy or Rent a Golf Cart

Some friends of mine have been considering buying a golf cart. My advice to them has been to withhold on that because the economy is so bad and not everyone has the money. But, they say that they have lots of money to spend on it. Then, I changed my argument to a matter of convenience. If you go golfing a lot, then the club knows you pretty well and will usually provide a free cart for you. So, why do you need your own? It would be such a hassle to take it from your house to the course every single time.
