Replacing Cheap Golfing Flags

golfing flags
Golfing flags are rather inexpensive compared to the other costs a golf club has. However it can become of the most overlooked detail as well. I've been to several clubs that have tattered and worn flags that look older than dirt. Why couldn't the club spend the less than $20 a nylon flag and replace them. I know most of us don't even pay attention to the flag because we just want to throw it on the ground to get it out of our putting. Isn't it annoying though when there isn't much to see of the flag when teeing off?

Golfing Games to Play on the Course

golfing games
Besides the video games and maybe the little put putt golf games you can buy for your office there are other golfing games you can try for when you're out on the course with friends. One of the most popular and an easy game for golfers is called pick-up sticks. The basic idea is that when playing match play you can take a club out of your competitors' bag and set it aside with the understanding he can't use it. For the most part players of the game usually keep the putter immune since it makes it very difficult to finish the hole without one. If you win a hole you can also choose to take back a stick that you may have lost during a previous hole. There are a few other rules but once you get the basic idea most players just iron out their own details to make it fun for them.

Setting the Depth of Holes on Golfing Greens is Pretty Easy

setting the depth of holes on golfing greensDid you know that the grass around the hole is called the table-land? It is know called the putting green; which happened around 1812. For the most part a player has to play a ball if it lands in a hole or other rough of the green. However a rule from 1952 changed the rules so a player didn't have to play rabbit scrapes. Normally the hole for golfing is about 4-inches in depth and about 4.25-inches in diameter. Greens-keepers use a special cutter that cuts the perfect round hole and pulls the chunk of earth out; it reminds me of a cookie-cutter.

Moments Like Alan Shepherd Golfing on the Moon

Alan Shepherd golfing on the moon With the new President about to be sworn into office a lot of us have been reflecting on what it is to be an American. The nostalgic memories are some of the first ideas that rise to our minds; ideas and images like Alan Shepherd golfing on the moon. Those moments in America's history when we reflected within ourselves are some of the most heartfelt that will never be let go. When you are out on the greens aim away from discussions on politics. Instead let those moments you cherish force you to perform your best.
